I wonder how much it would take the tour to be announced... first dates for Tracker tour were announced on September 16th 2014, Privateering ones on August 27th 2012...

My bet would be around the same time the album will be out. 

I would've guessed just after the release too, however looking at these dates from Jbaent it appears the previous tours were announced before the album release.  I suppose they can release the dates well before tickets actually going on sale mind you.

Ticketsales will not start before albumrelease. On several websites you can ofcourse order the new album and get a code to participate in the ticketsales. These codes will be availible untill nov 16 so no tournews before that one would think.......

Okay, do we know how many countries are involved with the presale? In the netherlands you can order the album at bol.com to participate in the presale for a concert in the Benelux. Not in the rest of Europe. This is kind off strange i think. So they are probably going to release the dates bit by bit......i think..

The virgin site offers presale to UK and Ireland. I imagine others shops would offer the same in other countries.

The presale codes doesn't need to wait to the release, as long as you pre-order and pay, they could send the presale code by mail so they can do it tomorrow if they want.

The action for presalecodes runs untill nov 16. So even if i order the album at nov 15 i will get a presale code. Therefore i assume tickets will not be on sale any sooner. Afgreed? And what’s the point in releasing the dates 4/5 weeks before you can actually buy tickets

tour dates are usually announced with the date that the tickets would be available in presale and/or general sale.

For example, tour dates can be announced today telling that presale will start in two weeks and general sale on three weeks.

Actually, thats the way it's done. Maybe there is no two weeks between the announcement and the presale, but I had seen it many times.

They can even announce the tour dates telling that presale and general sales date will be announces shortly. That happened already as well.

I asked the promoter agency and they said "It seems that Mark Knopfler is not coming to Finland in his next tour"
