OH! yes I finally found this section!

I'm Federico, from Udine, Italy, 37 years old, married and 2 beautiful kids, Laura Imelda 7 years old, and Andrew, 5 years old.
I was living for 15 years in Spain, in Valencia, and now I'm Sales Manager in a company that sells steel coils and similars.
So, always in flights, travelling all Americas (north and south), but also UAE, and Middle East countries.
And of course, my hobby is this: Glasgow Sailors, a nice tribute to our Mark Knopfler, since 2001, with more than 300 shows in our background.
That's me!

Bye!

Welcome Cannibal, and welcome though you've been here a while, Dutchessy. We're a good bunch, I think. I fall out of the loop on occasion, my schedule and personal events have a way of stepping on my regularity, but I always come back!! There are GREAT people and GREAT fans in here. Hope you enjoy yourselves! Everyone is a friend here.

Well. Now I have FOUR stars in my signature (!!) :lol I think I should introduce myself, too? So if anybody is interested:

Born 1971, so I am not 40 yet, books are my life, librarian, studied in Hamburg, working in a bookstore now, I love it. Live in a small town in Northern
Germany, near the dutch border, so I could be a "Border Reiver" anytime and visit Geroen, Fienecke and all the others.

My sister had Brothers in Arms from her friend, back in 1985, and he forgot it in our living room, so I found it there and listened to the intro from MfN for about 80 times - in the first week! Then she told me she had some cassettes from them, and I was able to listen to aLCHEMY, (but TOL was cut in the middle of the intro, so was PI - which never was a problem. When I had my first CD player in 1990, the second CD I bought was Alchemy (( the first one was BIA)) and when I was able to listen to TOL COMPLETE for the first time, I was in heaven!)

It was about then that I was going on everybody's nerves because of MK and Dire Straits and stuff, and all my friends were impatient with me within minutes!

My first live experience was 1991 in Bremen - and was totally stunned for weeks! I drove to Munich one week later without having a ticket and trying
to buy one outside the venue, found one, missed the first 10 minutes of Calling Elvis and saw Dire Straits the second time then! And so on and so on.

When I had my first internet, the first search word was "Knopfler" (I swear it!) And it was 2000 and I read that there will be a new album out "STP", which is my all time favourite. Will always be and ever was. Dire Straits included. So that was another big moment.

Last year, I joined this forum, and was "at home" within days - much more than I ever was at "the other side" - and feel so here since then.  :D
This year, I will be at a concert at the RAH for the first time and looking forward to it very much!

Next year, I will write a book about MK and call it "Memory Lane" - A biography of Mark Knopfler - or maybe not.  :disbelief :disbelief

Love Expresso is just my name because I was not able to get an account for "Creole Blue" which I would have loved much more!  ;D

All the best,

LE

OK, my turn :)

I guess most of you know me, but here I am again:
Name: Morten
Age: soon 39
Wife and three kids (8, 5 and 5)
I am a musician and a lawyer
I've been living in Moss, 60 km south of Oslo, for 4 1/2 years now. I concider Oslo my hometown.

I've been a member of and a poster on MK News Forum since the very beguinning, was it in 1998? And since most of those members changed forum, I did too, and I really enjoy beeing here!
I like and listen to all kinds of music and artists, but MK is like a football team, you just stay. I guess it's about passion and fanatism. I have a similar relationship with Bruce Springsteen.

As a guitarist I had the pleasure of being invited to be a part of a Bob Dylan Slow Train 30th aniversary concert in Oslo last year because of my relationship with MK's music. I bought a volume pedal and played MK guitar publicly for the first time in my life, and it was extremely fun!!! (I have of course played MK guitar at home when practising since MK made me change from keyboards to guitar in mid '80ies, but never in a band/concert/studio situation. I've done it several times since last year though.)

I've listened to MK since 1985. I fell in love with his music when it was played at a party. The day after, I bought the BIA casette on a petrol station, and then I had to buy the rest of his records and the book by Michael Oldfield, and I was sold.

First consert with MK: Oslo 1992. It's been around 10 shows since that, I think. Favourite MK/DS concert: Oslo 1996, first runner up: Oslo 2008

Fav DS record: Making Movies (the only rock and roll record made by MK, high quality, timeless, it rocks!) But I have a very spesial relationship with Love Over Gold.
Fav MK solo record: Shangri-la? Yes, I think so. It's wall to wall with guitar in a tasty way, I think.

Love you all!

Morten ;)

I read today a message of a new member and thought about this thread! So after searching, I found it back again at page 11!  ;D
As you see the last post is made at April 21-2010.   :disbelief

The last 2 1/2  years we have many new visitors and posters. I thought they might like to introduce them as well, that is why I
wrote this message and put the topic at page 1 again! ;)
