Hi Irisrose! We are not on MKnews  :P, I  for one, love it when a thread takes many different directions. What does everybody else think?

Hi Peter, nice to see a fellow karate-ka on board!

I like the chatting too; it brings develops our friendships and shows our sense of humor.   It was just a suggestion, not a censorhip or a criticism.   If I were new on the forum, I would want to read the "who are we" information without scrolling through brief (but friendly and positive, yes) chats.   I just think that a new thread can be started for those purposes.  A suggestion does not make this 'another forum.'   For what it's worth, that other forum has served many people well, and has provided much valuable content over the years.     No one is perfect, and no one is all bad.

It is fun to see how people respond to different topics, and if we all said the same thing, we would be robots and the forum would be boring.   In my opinion, though, the chatting in this thread takes away from the purpose of the thread.    In any forum there have to be some guidelines.  I hope that whenever a  mod requests something that we will not be compared to others.   We are unique, but we still must moderate.

But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best
To get along

The alusion to "the other forum" was only a little joke. No offence meant.

no deleting of posts, modifying of posts, just a request to keep some structure, at first i also thought, mm we are not o the other ... but then again it simply easier for everyone to "ead" when topics stay in ther "realm"
again, it is only a request, you are a

Hello old friends and new.  I'm Nancy King and am 61...yikes...but I feel like I'm 16, so we'll just reverse those numbers. I'm from Upstate NY, about two and a half hours north of NYC.  I had been a casual fan of DS for years, but really lost my mind when my husband took me to see MK in Montreal during the Shangri La tour.  It's been non-stop ever since, and we make it a point to fly and drive all over to see the band.

I am a retired English teacher/administrator, play lots of tennis, and have one daughter, one dog, and one fine husband.  We go to lots of music shows, including Journey/Heart/Cheap
Trick just last night, but we have been spoiled rotten by the likes of Mark, Guy, Richard, Matt, Glen, etc. etc.  Nothing comes close.  Nothing.

Love the vibe of this site.  It feels alive and fresh and I'll be reading all the posts every day. Cheers, all.

Linda from Salt Lake City, age 62, MK fan since I first heard SOS in 1977 or '78.
Newspaper sports writer for 41+ years, retired July 31, coincidentally the last day of MK's 2008 tour.
Married for 36+ years to George, who died of cancer February 2005. MK's music helped me survive.
I have two cats and a horse.
