I hate this "pop" intro though. Mark and this pop-delay is different planets to me, for this reason I can't listen to the Submariner ever again. Because of the pop music delays! But in the Submariner there's delays on the vocals to make things even worse. Mark, leave delay to pop stars!
The song definitely has some "He's the Man" vibes to it (which again is early 2000s song).
Bottom line: I like the more back to basics approach, although it was the case with Beryl and we got a completely different album, so let's see how the rest of the album will hold up. I don't think I want to re-listen Good On You Son though, but I'll give it another take for sure.
