So at least two groovy songs! The title is giving a certain direction anyway. Very interested in this one.

I was thinking about Tracker and if we had been given Hot Dog as first track and maybe after that Oklahoma Ponies... our expectations would have been totally other than what Tracker really was in the end. I guess Down The Road Wherever will be a calm and silent album the same as ususal. Doesn't matter as long as if it's good material and you prevent yourself  from falling asleep while listening!  ;D

I have a strange feeling though. To me it seems like a good idea to put "guitaristic" song as a sheet music in the box, like they did with "Get Lucky". This is the song you can play on your own, just 1 guitar, straightforward and cool, very strong song indeed. But here what we have is a transposed bass riff, some electric guitar lines and straight up rhythm guitar. Seems kind of strange to me. Would have much more sense to put the song like "Get Lucky" in the box, but we will see. Maybe it gets very guitaristic later.

I think I can bring Hot Dog and My Bacon Roll on the desert island and listen to them on repeat :lol

Did anyone tried to play this?

Just for the sake of it, I did an mp3 of this riff so you can hear it.
Nothing extraordinary and you can't get much out of 1 title page.

Ah thanks! I was hoping you would do this.

Per Musicvaultz.com , if you order the Delux box set,  you’ll get a code to download all the tracks, so the vinyl tracks will be available to download ? Is it the same as a digital card ?

It caught my attention the very little we are talking about the guest singers in the record

Lance Ellington
Kris Drever
Beverley Skeete
Katie Kissoon. YES, THE ONE THAT USED TO SING WITH CLAPTON (and MK in the Princes trust and Knebworth, for example)

and specially:

IMELDA MAY

I'm surprised nobody said anything, Imelda May is a great singer, really great!

Mac and Katie Kissoon used to sing together (brother and sister) and were pretty successful in the 70s.  She's also been backing singer for Van Morrison, Roger Waters, Elton John and George Michael etc.  Pretty sure she was singing with EC when Mark was touring with him 87-89.

Imelda May performed at the tribute concert for Bill Wyman's 80th birthday.

Imelda May is an Irish folk/jazz singer and Kris Drever is from the folk band Lau and also associated with John McCusker, so I think that there will still be a Celtic sound to some of the songs.

I imagine the guest singers are just on backing vocals.
They got a name for people like you, yeh they do
And they got a name for people like me too

Imelda May is a big name, so I suppose she won't be just doing backing vocals...

I expect Drovers' Road to have the Folkies on it. It's also the song title (together with Trapper Man) that catches my attention most and make me really curious.

Yes, she is and also is jazzy!   She plays a lot of instruments, including the bodhran.  I wonder if she will tour with MK?   :think

I thought we were done with the folkies on tour.  ;)
