This will probably only be meaningful to those of you who are fans of the FX show The Americans, but thought I would add it here.

Here’s a post from Guy’s forum:

Doc,
A very nice rendition of BIA on the finally of “The Americans”.
Was that done for the show ? or taken from history ?
Very nice.
Regards, Rob

GF: I remixed the track specially for it.

I can’t view the show in my country so could someone do a favor and rip the new remix and share it with us?

OK, so anywhere we can hear this version without having to watch the show?

Try that. Not to different really, the length of it is though.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

People standing around a grave in the dark ... really could have been any other song by any other artist ... absolutely no emotional connection here...  but I admit I am totally not into TV series nowadays ... far too much stuff going on. Plus Sonny Crockett driving through Miami at night to the sound of Ride Across The River will be unbeaten forever!  :lol

Agreed...on all points!

How apt Miami Vice decided to use a BIA song after the SFA video release.  :lol

I'm into TV shows but I'm not familiar with this one in particular. However, it seems to be about the cold war so the lyrics might make sense in case you know the context, I don't know. Apparently the fans loved it so it might be the case.

For such an classic and iconic song, to me it is nothing but spectacular to hear or detect something new and unheard on it!

Yeah, you can hear those licks in the original version during the Hammond solo. All Guy did here was juggling things around to achieve a better fit with the scene.

Agree, Pretty cool this!  :)  Quite different from the original, between the verses.

I think there are two things :
- different mix. so indeed Eddie is right, it's the part during the organ solo, but without the organ
- different editing : Guy took this part that features in the outro on the orignal and put it between two verses

I was wrong, it's not additional bars like for STP, it's just same bars but at a different place, and without the organ

Quite a few changes ... around 1:10 as well.
The drums also sound slightly different in the mix and is Mark’s guitar amplified slightly?
