Thank you all for your nice comment!  :-*

As I told before, I have permission to post the messages of Jacki's friend Jean at the forums. I received this one today!

Re: jacki "Dear Fieneke - I just talked to Jacki. She was sitting up in a chair eating lunch. The nurse was going to have the nurse put her back to bed. She didn't sound quite like herself but she is still fighting the pneumonia. It was wonderful to hear her voice and to know she is out of the ICU. Her room number is 5227. She talked about her garden at her house - I thought that was a good sign. I read her part of your message - to let her know you are thinking of her - she was so pleased - meant a lot to her. She will be there for a while yet but at least this is a good step forward. Jean Allen"

Good news again and I hope she will feel better every day!

I got a new mail from Jacki's friend Jean Allen.

==============
Re: jacki

Just wanted you to know that today - July 17 - she seems a little better - They got her up and she fell but does not seem to be hurt. I would guess that she is very weak. She is not having visitors today - says she is very tired and needs to rest. They are going to move her to a rehabilitation hospital soon to get her on her feet. But first they have to deal with the pneumonia. Is still a problem. The other day when I spoke to her the brightest she sounded was when I mentioned that you had inquired about her. Thank you. My best wishes. Jean Allen

===============

If Jacki already likes that people inquire about her, what would her reaction be when she receives the cards of the fans around the world and especial the wonderful card Nelly made?  ::) I would love to see her face!  ;D Knowing what kind of  woman Jacki is, she even might get a tear in her eye reading all the get well wishes!  ;)

Being a member of the Knopflerado family, she is a part of us and in our thoughts and prayers!

Thank you Shangri-La.  :-* I feel honoured to be a part of this wonderful group of fans!

My husband and I will leave Thursday July 23rd for a vacation to Rhodes (Greece). I don't have a computer, so I can't keep you all informed for about 2 weeks. I sent Marie, Gayle and Emily a mail and hope that they can keep in contact with Jean Allen or other friends of Jacki or even can have contact with Jacki self, so that you all will be informed.

As soon as I hear something before I leave or when I return August 6th, I will let you all know.

I sent yesterday a copy of the DVD of the birthday party of Nigel and Ingrid and also a CD with pictures of the party and of our visit together with Jacki and Mark S to Norwich castle. Jacki loved her visit to the UK and I hope it might make her feel happy to watch again. ;)

There's bad news about Jacki. I received e-mails from Emily and this is what I can post right now.
People, please send your strongest thoughts to Jacki. Keep praying and I really hope we can catch some better news soon again.

On Saturday, Jacki developed problems breathing on her own.  She was transferred to the ICU.  She was totally sedated, re-intubated and put on a ventilator to help her breathe.  To make matters even more serious, apparently there is severe scarring in her lungs (from using the ventilator during her previously stay in the ICU), and her lung capacity is very limited right now.

Also, in the earlier stages of her admission, she had developed blood clots (which is not uncommon with injuries such as she sustained) for which she was given blood thinners.  It was discovered around or about Saturday that Jacki had had blood loss.  She received both blood and plasma, and the blood thinner medication was stopped.  Since that time, she has developed blood clots again in her legs.

This is an extremely serious and sad turn of events.  Please keep Jacki in your prayers and best thoughts.

This is very sad to hear and extremely serious. To be readmitted to ITU for ventilation nearly 5 weeks after her accident is a real set back and feels ominous to me. I'm sure Jacki is being looked after v well and getting the best of treatment. All we can do is hope and pray . C'mon jcser!!
