From Guys website in relation to archive recordings:
"We are well aware of the demand for such recordings. I can tell you that this matter IS being discussed. The legacy of any band of this stature is naturally very important to record labels"
For what it's worth i'd be after:
Mandela 88
A full Live in 85/6 concert (London Dec 85 / NYC 85 / Sydney 86)
Something from the On Location Tour
OES tour outtakes
Demos and outtakes
All issued with a high quality vinyl release
Not aware any of the London December '85 gigs being recorded - July 10th yes, usually referred to as Wembley '85.
Never liked the Sydney show; tired performance, short ToL.
Must be enough from the OES tour to take up a dozen CD's if you include the Paris, Nîmes and Rotterdam shows.
Let's not forget the Madrid 2001 DVD and the other shows recorded for overdubs - Glasgow, Newcastle and Bilbao(?).
This site is only going to be worth it if they make available the "Holy Grail" bootlegs, some of which I've listed above. We already have most available pro-recorded performances. One wonders what is still surviving and what they can lay their hands on and then get rights to...
