Here in Russia we had a fan club called "Mark Knopfler & Dire Straits" with all the music and stuff... But after a while I decided to divide it in half into MK and DS separately. So maybe this website is merely for dividing the material, because right now there's a mess on Mark's website. It's Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler simultaneously. So you'd have DS discography, news, music, etc. on this website and MK's stuff on MK.com.

Everytime there's a young newcomer they all get too hysteric. Same thing happened just the other year.

It's like they can't survive unless they get all the info they need in on the same day and the same with info going the opposite way.

Take a breath, search, read. Many around here had to go through years and years to get a whole lot of knowledge.

We all know that MK did very little about letting "new" DS stuff on the market once the contract was over (ie after Live At The BBC).

But as the time is passing by he always can decide that after all this years he would not mind anymore about stuff being released regarding his old famous band.

I know I am currently dreaming but who knows?

We all were newcomers once.   Can we try to be supportive instead of criticizing?   An original purpose of this site was to share our knowledge and enthusiasm.  When someone new comes along, we need to welcome that person, not make fun of his/her lack of knowledge.  Some of us know a lot more about MK/Ds than others.   That does not make us superior human beings.   Think of how you would feel--or have felt--when someone put you down for your lack of knowledge when you were trying to learn.   Be nice, please.
