Alchemy remastered - Saxophone at Solid Rock intro???
« on: February 03, 2018, 11:59:17 PM »
Notice that at the remastered version of Alchemy, during the intro of Solid Rock appears a Saxophone part, but in the original recording, and in the audience recording, that part is unlistenable
That was originnaly in the concert? Or was a thing that the engineers added to the recording?

I believe Mel Collins was behind the stage during the intro and just jamming along with his channel muted at FOH and monitors on stage. The tape was however rolling all the time and the part got recorded and when Chuck remixed the audio that part for some reason got included in the mix. A weird mistake.

Considering Chuck's excellence I tend to believe he bumped into it and thought it was worth keeping. I highly doubt that was a mistake.
