...or not capable of travelling to and from London theatre's to work on such an intensive project these days"

This may be true  :(

ps. But apparently someone saw him at David Gilmour concerts

A project like a musical would be an intensive daily workload though.

It's true.
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home

Not really, unless he's asked for new songs, the songs are already there and Guy is his musical director, there is really no need of MK doing anything further than, as mentioned before, writing new songs or just see how it's going that would be a day or two, and the rest of work is for Guy, as happened in Chichester. Guy was there in rehearsals and during all previews shows, MK only went once or twice, apart of the opening day for press.

Quite sad news. Still there is hope, but if Guy says that, being him so involved in the musical...

This would depend on how many new songs are required.
Most of the hard work has already been done so his involvement could be fairly minimal.
Unfortunately Local Hero is a niche attraction and it is a shame it didn't travel around Scotland back in 19.
It was really well done but London theatres take less "risks" since covid.

I'd like to think that the Old Vic would like to have it as it was originally scheduled to be there in 2020 and they are just waiting to the right moment in their agenda but... Who knows. Indeed it would make more sense to be represented at theaters in major cities in Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen...) but it needs s a company wanting to take the risk. I think it would make it well there.

From what I heard from Daniel Evans I was under the impression that he wanted to keep it alive and bring it to London, specially since he's in London now co-directing The Royal Shakespeare Company and it looked like Evans felt attached to the plot of Local Hero by what he said in some interviews, but seems it might be difficult according to Guy's words.

Also by what Evans said, they have some Edinburgh representations recorded, and also some from Chichester, if the musical can't reach the London theatres, I hope they could use it in any way for fans that attended the shows and also for people that couldn't.

However, talking about this now seems so "alive" as talking about MK concerts  :(

The less likely a future LH musical show becomes the more precious the experiences in Edinburgh and Chichester become.
It was a rare and different MK adventure with a lot of charm and atmosphere, especially in Edinburgh.
A treasure to keep.

Yes, both runs of the musical were special because the plot is well known and loved by many of us as we know the film, and having so many new songs written by MK and played by great musicians, having guitar players that made it so well that sometimes it seemed that MK was there playing himself... It was special and the fact that remains unreleased and probably would remain like that makes it more special.

I'm very happy that my friends convinced me to go as I wasn't very attracted by it in the begining and have a certain prejudice about the whole thing. I left Edinburgh theatre surprised and happy of let my friends drag me there.
