That sucks, really. It just drops my level of interest in it from 1 to zero.
I think the same thing perfectly  :disbelief

Of course it may persuade more people to attend the shows who were just intending to wait for the album release.  Personally I don't really see the point in buying the album now and I don't think I'll be alone, so I think they've hit a bum note here.

I thought the album would be released as it did in 1983. Now I am losing hope :(

Hey I'm completely disagree with you guys. You can't ruin a good song by giving a chance for somebody else to perform it.
I bet it has a lot of accents and stuff like that, so it's not exactly Mark's expertise anyway, so I'm actually pretty excited.

My last question to Guy and his answer. What do you think he means?

Q:Just a cast album of the Local Hero musical? There won’t be other version with the songs recorded by MK , you and many other musicians through theses years at British Grove? “The Last Ship” by Sting had two releases, one by Sting and other by the cast… I had hopes that Local Hero would have two releases as well…

A: It’s too early for me to talk about that. Rest assured.

I think he means that there will be a studio album - eventually.   Maybe when the tour is over?  :think

Also, maybe it was not "them" taking that decision, but rather mark's?

I'm thinking about the Old Vic in London representations next year...

Maybe MK would be more involved in London representations? And from that would be released another record of it?

Or maybe another cast album, but from London  :smack

I'm only interested in the songs and only if Mark's playing and singing, I've never been into musicals. I might check it out eventually though.

Last night I treated myself to another viewing of "Local Hero".   It is a great little film and I'm really looking forward to being at the Lyceum, especially to see how it transfers to the stage and how the cast and band interpret Mark's music.   I will certainly buy the live CD, because it is yet another aspect of Mark's ongoing career, but I still hope that we will eventually have the studio recordings to enjoy and make comparisons.   I am not usually a fan of musicals, but I'm very excited about this one!   :)

I caught some snippets on a local news report last night.  Too short to tell really and the reporter was talking.  I heard a re-arrangment of the Local Hero theme in there which was lovely, a song mentioning Alicante and something about "cheerio."

I immediately did a search last night after I saw it so I could share it on here but saw nothing.  It was on STV News on their programme Scotland Today if you want to search, but I couldn't find anything.  Maybe it's there now.
