Guy's reply to me:

Hi Guy! Will the music for Local Hero be performed by an orchestra or a band and if a band, will any of the members be familiar to us?

There is a live band that will do the show. I don’t think anyone you currently know although you may well do in the future.

Very interesting.

I think that having a live band would be great for the performance itself but maybe they are leaving out the "Knopfler effect", if they would had used pre-recorded music, anyone who goes to the representation will hear Mark Knopfler playing, even it's recorded, but it's recorded specially for the representation...

I wonder if they would release two versions of the musical, one with Knopfler and his musicians and the other with the cast, or just one. In case they release just one, I hope it's the one with Knopfler!

Did any of the people attending thought about record any of the perfomances? I mean, audio or video?

I guess it would be difficult because it's a small theater but it would be great for those who can't attend.

I would carry with me my digital recorder to record audio at least.

Having been there a few times getting in with the equipment wouldn't be an issue, however using a video camera would probably get you spotted as ushers stand at the top of the row during the performance as far as I recall.

Most of mobile phones record HD video nowadays, mine does, but as you say, I would be spotted as it is suspicious to be all the perfomance with the mobile in my hand in suspicious position. I'm bad hiding it, thats why I would record audio.

Thanks - cool video.  I've got a picture of that phone box with the castle in the background - it's just round the corner from the Lyceum.

again… it doesn't say March 14th is the official premiere, there is a series of previews form March 14-22 at reduced prices.

The "premiere" or "first performance" was supposed to be on March 19th... They added some previews dates before... strange.

They say in the web:

Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh and The Old Vic present the World Premiere of
Local Hero

So my guess is they mean the first preview date is the world premiere of the musical.

It makes sense as it's the first performance with public, so, the premiere.
