So I guess we have different standards, how cool is that. Can I have an opinion or not attending a gig prevents me from having one?

The video does not have a full picture. I assure you were impressive!

Mark has blown me away on video hundreds and hundreds of times, mate. I know my standards  :lol

It's the same performance so a mistake is still a mistake, a great moment is still a great moment.  The sound will be much better at the concert but essentially you hear the same thing.  Many times I have watched videos of concerts I've attended and thought that it wasn't as good as I had thought.  You just make allowances for the sound quality.  Perhaps we also get caught up in the atmosphere and don't analyse the performance so much at the show as we do from our armchairs?

Sure, and are what make each concert unique.

Since tours are where the artist make their money I'm not sure I'd agree!  ;)

Pretty good point, so true. Mark used to be one the most precise musicians out there, he'd go weeks and weeks without making any noticeable mistakes. He became a little erratic lately though. Considering that his soloing keeps getting less and less complex and slower I tend to believe it's age related. When you are there in the audience you get carried away by the atmosphere but at home with your earphones on it's pretty different.

I was at all MK concerts in my country and a few abroad, and I never thought about it this way :(

I enjoyed, some more than the others, every MK show I had attented since 1996, and I have to say that I never watched a full concert in dvd from all the ones that are available or the ones that are complete in youtube...

Why?

I start skiping songs and in the end, I stop watching it. When you are in the concert, you are there, so unless you go to the bathroom or to the bar, you see the whole thing.
I was at the London O2 Arena concert, and I liked it a lot. I have the full dvd of that concert and I never ever saw more than the 30% of it, and I will never do... I don't feel the need of watching Paraguay or Marbletown when I can avoid it  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

And the feeling and excitement you have in the concert, having MK in front of you, surrounded by other fans, planning the travel, seeing old friends and new ones before or after the show is not the same than watching him on your tv. You loose a very big amount of that excitement. I remember more about talking with Dusty, LE, Ingrid, Pottel, Dmg etc etc etc before the concerts than the concerts themselfs sometimes.
So Long
