Because it looks like his problem is he can stand negative opinions and apparently try to tell us to don't express negative opinions, or that express them is not acceptable from a fan...

Really? I thinking you're making fun of and complaining about what you used to like most in the world. And almost harassing Guy Fletcher for info about the new record. Funny how commenting on the level of negativity turns into "hero worship" and "flowers and chocolates".
If you didn't like the last album and tour why do you feel the need to come to a "fansite" and constantly belittle it. I can't wait for the next album --- when it inevitably doesn't sound like Making Movies 2, the knives will be out. Don't worry, I'm only joking.

I'm not Ed's lawyer or anything, but he really hasn't harrassed Guy Fletcher for new info. Everytime I see his posts on his forum it's about other stuff, and more recently about MK totally ignoring South America for almost twenty years. We are not here to "constantly belittle Mark's work", if you read this forum extensively you'll realize that's not true...but even if it was, what's the matter with that? Is he like a God who never makes mistakes and never does anything that's not as good as a previous work?
I think you are you way too stressed and need to calm down a bit.

(By the way Ed, as a fellow portuguese speaker, thanks a lot for making an effort and trying to bring MK to Brazil! Although I'm not brazilian, I've got relatives there, and I would probably go there if MK performed there)

Regarding criticism, who is the object of this forum? As far as I'm concerned we are all here to talk about Mark Knopfler, aren't we? And I'm pretty sure it's not a church as rmarques pointed out. So, if I criticize Mark for something I happen not to like it shouldn't be a problem I suppose. Now if I criticize Mark, you (generally speaking, please) criticize me for criticizing Mark, someone else criticizes you for criticizing me for having criticized Mark... Jesus Christ, that's exhausting.

Can I smell a political correctness outbreak here? The world is becoming boring, folks. Let's be objective, shall we. Is it forbbiden to say anything 'negative' about Mark on this forum? Because if it is I'll stop. But in case it's not forbbiden everyone's granted the ability to exercise the right of free speech, including those who respectfully disagree with some aspects of Mark's career.

I'll keep expressing my opinions up to the day I'm told by one of the administrators it's against the rules.

I'm not the most qualified person to talk about Mark's tours since all I've seen over the last 13 years (saw him in New Zealand back in 2005) was youtube content but... I tend to agree with you. I absolutely love Tracker but the performances I saw on video were not impressive.
