I have hated him since 1993 when On The Night was released without Sultans Telegraph Tunnel and Planet,
most stupid and ridiculous decision in the whole history of music  :D :D :D

I bet that the joke "Ok Rich, you and me, I'll go first than you join... Everybody else ... good luck" will be part of the next tour jokes.

I have a good feeling regarding this coming album, the release in the "warmth" of the spring/Summer, the Gibson signature thing, the RRHF, almost 9 months of pregnancy should give birth to a beautiful and big baby :)
Don't forget the "if you give us a standing ovation we'll give you an encore, if you don't give us any ovation we'll give you two encores..."

Sent from my Redmi 4A using Tapatalk

Am I missing something or is that encore thing not even remotely funny.  I just don't get it.

As for the poll - you mentioned the North American leg, the European Leg but forgot about the German Leg!

hahahaha LOL. That was a good one.
Yeah there is always a german Leg with 15 Gigs
Love will find a Way

Yes, this is a strange move. On EP. "Encores" and on the album "On The Night" is Your Latest Trick and the lack of Telegraph and Sultans. Very strange  :hmm

You guys certainly are a bunch of haters. Sad, really. I love how some people can't wait for the album and tour so they can skewer it.

To me the "good luck" reference is not funny and never was, let alone "you and me, Richard" joke.

The funniest MK's joke is when he says "are you ready girls" to a bunch of professional musicians he's paying to :lol :lol :lol

Encore thing is another way of saying "oh, please, don't cheer me too much". So if they do, MK gets angry and play less. Get it? I can't either :lol

The joke is that if you don't cheer, you will get "punished" with not one but two encores.

I was looking for a fansite where people are actually fans of Mark Knopfler. Unfortunately this place is made up of ex-Dire Straits fans who seem to denegrate anything the man does nowadays. Too bad.

Oh...You don't know this fansite at all. We're all just joking here, get a grip...But if it bothers you so much, I think you can leave.

We are the biggest fans ever, that's why we talk about what we love about MK and what we don't, because we care!

Wow. Slow down around the corners man. A healthy dose of different views is never a bad thing. And it’s actually a sign of a living community. AMIT is one of the “liviest” forums I’ve ever seen. Who use forums nowadays, anyway? We use, we're old school. And it’s really cool that you can grasp two opposite views and come up with your own.

I’ve seen forums where people would cry their fingers out of love for their idol, and this is really sad, like North Korea appreciation society.

Mark said he reads left and right newspapers to get the real political picture, so if he would read this forum he would get the real picture of his fan base.

— The infamous setlist problem really bother people (because of the amount of genius songs he can play instead of Done With Bonaparte already)
— Everybody’s looking forward to his new release whatever it might be and Tours always get anticipated a lot despite all the controversy, old songs and jokes

Many of us “know” MK for so long he’s like a “sibling” to us. I’ve never met him, but it doesn’t stop me from dashing and bashing his work like friends do, because for an unbiased end user all that matters is the end result and we want the best from this man here, who’ve made us accustomed to the best in the first place.

It should be an eye-opener to those of you who never seem to find anything positive to say: You are scaring away new readers! I am one of those who doesn't reply a lot, because it seems that the rule is "the worse, the better". I do get your point Quissaciously that you (all) see him as a kind of friend who you (all) can makes jokes on behalf of, but it often goes too far.

I agree with you, Elin.   I, too, feel that all the negativity posted on this forum could deter new members from joining, even though they say they are only joking!       I don't expect everyone to be fanboys and girls, btw, just a bit more balance and positivity would be nice.

But I can't see the "too-farness" of it... Nobody's insulting anybody, just a polite discussion stimulating opposite views (like yours!). Some people can be more "negative" of course, but usually there's no smoke without fire. Me personally, I'm a sceptic all my life and I treat almost everything I see or hear with a different amount of doubt, including live shows, lyrics, tribute bands, albums, songs, news, politics, sports, weather, food, people, guitars, buildings, cars, ect. Anything :lol
