The file (see Attachment). Compressed in a low quality but you can hear pretty well the guitar. Don't like it very much the song..... i don't know.... maybe I can`t bind the voice of Brandon Flowers  with Mark's guitar.... Gibson sounds pretty nice. The collaboration will not become a classic...

Mark's guitar licks sound a bit out of place in the beginning of the song but once the drums kick in it gets awesome.

Signature Gibson Les Paul detected :lol

Thanks Mark for yet another collaboration track I'll never listen again. Sounds good, but nothing more to me.

Hmm. In an interview Mark talked about how he would play a song in the making to the band on an acoustic, and then there would be a long pause and then somebody would say "have you got anything else?"

That's exactly what I'm thinking as well  ;)

Haha! A good one. Gave it the second listen today, constantly thinking it should have a bigger build-up and I want a release, but I get nothing. It's like in "Silvertown Blues" you have this build up and a huge culmination near the end. I'd double the tempo in this Killers' song towards the end or something.

I was already in doubt when I saw the title. I just hate when songwriters talk about writing songs in their songs, it's like in the movie actors are talking about making movies or in a video game you're being told that you're in a video game. Not the best song title in the world indeed. Song is an art form, and if you want to write a song about writing songs, check the song "Private Investigations" by your lead guitar player.

I know there's millions of The Killers fans and it's just what I honestly think, not trying to moan and stuff. Mark as always said "yes" for a strange song and I feel responsible to judge it with Mark's standards of quality in mind.

But maybe it's just my personal problem. Because I see no reason in "using" Mark as a guitar player anyway and never anticipate the release of collaborations like that. My all time favourite MK collaborations is the ones where he sings: What A Wonderful World, Irish Heartbeat, On Raglan Road, The Lily Of The West, etc.

To me "using" Mark as a guitar player is an equivalent of asking Frank Sinatra to play on a triangle in your song. It's possible, yes, but why?

Mark's electric guitar sound works great in his songs, and most of the time he's being used just for the name-dropping reasons to me.

If I were doing a collab with Mark, I'd insist for it to be 1) recorded live in the studio, 2) sung by Mark, 3) preferably composed by Mark.

Of course Mark played guitar with Bob Dylan and his other friends, but this is a natural collaboration to do and not this name-dropping BS.
