mm, got that much, was hoping for another answer...

Before it was edited, GennT's original post included a comment copied directly from a news item TK posted at MKNews, so I assume the news was broken first by Terry.

From the Hotel Monteleone site  ;)

Antonio Monteleone was an industrious nobleman who was operating a very successful shoe factory in Sicily when he heard great things about America. The call of adventure motivated him to pack the tools of his trade and head for "the land of opportunity." Antonio arrived in New Orleans circa 1880 and opened a cobbler shop on Royal Street, the busy thoroughfare of commerce and banking in America

Unless this is a 45 minute album, we should be up for longer instrumental passages. But I'll wait until I see the track lengths.

I don't know if track names say anything about the tracks themselves, but this still feels exciting. "Border Reiver" sounds really cool.

I'm sure the track lengths will be announced, though. Seems like they are building the excitement by 'rolling out' info one step at a time.

So Far From The Clyde

The clyde is a river in Glas gow the town Mark is born. Maybe this song is about the fact that he is nowadays far away from Glasgow.

Or maybe about this building : http://www.glasgowarchitecture.co.uk/clyde_buildings.htm

 :) the Border Reivers

http://www.borderreivers.co.uk/Border%20Reivers/Border%20reivers.htm

At least 3 Scottish sounding tracks (along with So far from the Clyde and Piper to the end). Can't wait. I think this is where Mark draws on his most distant musical memories and IMHO he is at his lyrical best on this level. Both voice and guitar.  ;)

Seems we're going to have a "folk" feel again though. Not sure how I feel about that. KTGC was my least favourite MK album, but I'm not sure it was because of the folk style, probably just that the actual songs weren't MK's best (IMO).

I agree, Dusty. I have trouble to put more than two songs in a imaginal "best-of-MK-playlist-of-all-times". Maybe In The Sky and The Scaffolder

Ok, Guy told Dom in his forum today that "Piper in the end" is one of the two left over songs from KTGC, so my assumption has been disproven within
minutes from top priority...

Maybe it's a homage to Clyde, the monkey out of those Clint Eastwood films. I somehow had a hunch that MK would be going for a "slapstick" feel with this record.
