I recall someone already said that Issy used to post a lot of pictures with a boyfriend, who is an actor, and then one day all that pictures disappeared and that boyfriend was never seen again on Issy's Instagram, and the wrong un might be that boyfriend and the song might be for his daughter telling her he wasn't the right for her.

Knopfler’s daughter and her boyfriend.

As an actress she is a public figure and people are discussing stuff she has posted publicly on social media, along with speculating who MK is writing about in one of his songs.

Regarding Issy I had a very brief interest in her social media at a time she briefly spoke about her wish Mark perform at Glasto.
She is (was?)  a big fan of the fest.

But this was to little for me and I wasn't confortable following her insta life. Issy as Issy is just not of interest for me.

I reckon that there is a sort of duality between my wish to respect private life and my wish to know the real story of Mr Knopfler music.

I like the idea that the deal between an artist and the public starts at the entry of the venue including the greeting at the back door  and ends at the exit of the same venue.

It came from the news of the Hansen documentary being overdue, bashing his management and wonder about MK stop playing live, went to his play till I fall over quote to the goodbye speech in Barcelona which raised the question if he is a grand dad and ended by Pottel gossiping about a guy with red hair being the ex lover of MK's daughter. So all in all, typical AMIT style I would say.

Jokes aside, I'm not sure it's gossip at all. Isabella never asked to stop discussing her posts and is willing to share her life with the world. People with eyes noticed she had a new boyfriend (tho it's hard to notice because he's nearly identical, LOL). So the consequence here, I guess, is somebody can discuss it with somebody.

Gossip/stalking/harassment and other strong words are something that hurts. Our little jokes on a forum wouldn't hurt a fly, let alone a badass daughter who herself would probably laugh about Pottel's and rmarques821's takes, or kick them in the nuts if that would be offensive. Laughter saves the day!

Of course Issy publishing private element on her insta is feeding our gossiping instinct. We are social animals.   
Of course if Mark had made public reference to Issy that would be different.
