Had the opportunity to meet tommy last month. He said that he had asked mark knopfler to record a couple (i think he said a couple) of songs with him, with the expectation that it wouldnt happen because mark is "way up in the stratosphere" as he would say. To his surprise mark accepted, but under the condition that tommy would also have to record some songs that mark wanted!
He said that it was very fast, they spent the morning in the studio, had lunch, and then mark basically sent him off because he had other things to do in the afternoon
