Mathis Haug (country-folk) : a german who lives in France and sings in english. very knopflerish (solo era). I quoted Mark in my article : "my idea of heaven is where tyne meets delta..." because it suits very well to Mathis Haug's music

Thanks JF!  I saw Eric Bibb in Glasgow at Transatlantic Sessions 2013 and really enjoyed his songs, especially this one:

Eric Bibb is a favourite of mine too.

First time I heard his music was when he honored BB King when BB recieved the Polar Music Prize (way) back in 2004. (Plus I never knew the accordion could sound so rad.)

yes Eric bibb is awesome. His latest album is very emotionnal, talking about migrants, and it has french harp player JJ Milteau
Stefan Astner plays with Eric on Big Daddy Wilson's album, another gem !


For those who really like Mark's solo work, things like KTGC, Tracker, TRD, I have to recommend to listen to Mathis Haug. I found the same style in songwriting, in themes, in blending american and european music. His latest album "wild country" is very knopflerish to me (not in term of guitar style, but in terms of general music)

Thanks, JF - the latter is the correct title.    Those BBC Transatlantic Sessions are wonderful and I hear that they are returning again later this year.
