Works written by Mark Knopfler
« on: June 09, 2009, 11:20:48 AM »
I found this site with song titles written by MK.

http://www.ascap.com/ace/search.cfm?requesttimeout=300&mode=results&searchstr=5628270&search_in=c&search_type=exact&search_det=t,s,w,p,b,v&results_pp=20&start=1

The song get lucky is not showing in this list. SO I don't think we will find new song titles here, but maybe someone else know a site where to find copyrighyt material?

This one is also interesting. In the banlist B you will find a number "Baywatch"

Very strange song names to see there.

On the same list there is this song:

KNOPFLER MARK - IK VERDIEN JE NIET - 470746

That's a dutch title! It can't be a song from Mark....

Any possibility of these being copyrighted before being considered for publishing, then not?  Joni's a Waitress sounds kind of like a track from a film score.   And Baywatch?    Could there be any association with that tv show--which I never watched.
But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best

I decided to revisit this page again, and found some songs that I wasn't aware of back in 2009... however, I do not remember. So here are some titles I cannot remember:

Last ship
Markin' Time (!!!!!! - song about US?)  ;D

Have a look, there is some other stuff I cannot match, maybe someone can help?

I just created one thread per record with all the unreleased songs listed in ISWC-NET (also in ASCAP) to have a kind of register of the unreleased songs of MK per album.
