I like it... Mk can very easily create melodies mixing his folk, Celtic, country and jazz licks...

Great stuff! Good to hear he still nails those jazz scales and progressions.

I was just about to say how great he looks today  :lol your comment woke me up.

My guess is that because of his looks, this interview is from sometime around Privateering but I don't know for sure.

Wow! The best interview with him I've seen in a long long time (maybe ever?). He is in such a good mood, you can tell he enjoys this setting, just him in the studio with his guitars. And all the noodling and close ups of his '58 LP really did it for me. We didn't have to listen to the entire amplifier story either, which is a big plus. The only improvement I can think of is if he would have his '54 strat there as well...  ;)

BTW, he was playing around with True Love will.... this couldn't be from the KtgC days, right? 10 years is a long time to wait to release an interview. I hope this was done recently, because he looks really well.

I guess that him playing "True Love Will Never Fade" could means that the MK part was recorded quite long ago, I doubt very much that he will use nowadays that show to explain anything about playing guitar.

It's probably nothing new in the years 2007 - 2009 ?

I'm pretty sure he played that song because it's one of the easiest and strumming-friendly songs of his over the past 10 years. Let alone it was recorded on the same guitar he was demonstrating the song in the video anyway :)

I don't know when it was recorded, but it was before 2016... Looks like it would fit Get Lucky timeline, but it was in the drawer for so long?

Actually, it fits 2009 timeline very well, because it's on iTunes in 720p only while the rest of the documentary is in 1080p.
So it might be the clue for the time when 1080p wasn't everywhere and 720p was the standard for "HD". Seems plausible.

But, I guess, the real reason why we are so confused with this and discuss this is because Mark's music is timeless!

I made a coub out of my favourite moment in the video. Man, he looks like he heard this guitar for the first time in his life.

Am I the only one who finds it intriguing that Mark plays so fluidly in these videos but since the end of his SL tour he sounds so damn bored when he plays solos live?

No, I'm with you! But I think it depends on the song. And it all goes down to the setlist thing again and again...
On one hand we have killer solos in Kingdom Of Gold, in other hand overplayed Sultans and Telegraph :hmm
