The wonderful Roy Bittan played on Making Movies. The best keyboards player MK ever played with IMHO.

I always had a soft spot for Matt Rollings. I know that Jim obviously can do everything, but it sounds always like Jim. To me it is more a sign of quality if a player is versatile and plays dedicated to the song more than to showing off. I always found these quality in Matt more than in Jim. Of course Jim isn't exactly showing off, he's not that kind of charakter, but he has always those parts you know (plinki pling)

I also prefer Matt Rollings. After Alan Clark, to me he was the best keyboard player MK had with him.

I really loved Matt Rollings'   piano playing, especially in songs such as STP and Piper to the End.   His piano perfectly complemented MK's guitar.   I still miss him in the band, even though Jim is excellent too, but in a different way.

Bittan was indeed one of the reasons why Tunnel of love and R&J sounded that great, and the album as a whole. It sounds like no other DS album obviously because of his personal touch.
It's obvious Mark didn't compose those piano parts.

Alan Clark... his influence is probably a bit different. Synths are not really my cup of tea to be honest but realistically, the songs would probably have been as good without synths.

I'd rank Matt Rollins second. Fantastic soulful player.
