If RB is on tour with Neil in 2018, 2 comments - I live in that part of the world, but wont be seeing him and secondly its going to be the only time RB will visit Australia as its not like MK visits this part of the world (for whatever reason).  Does anyone know Neil's set list structure?  Are they static night after night or does he do a Bruce and ANYTHING can get played??

Looking at the two London shows there are only two changes, so basically the same as Knopfler shows.  Perhaps Ricardo likes the static sets and the rest of the band would like to alter it... :think

P.S.  RB visited Australia with Mark back in 2005, although I reckon they won't be back any time soon.  Prove me wrong Mark!

RB on tour with Neil again in 2018??
http://scenestr.com.au/music/neil-diamond-sweet-australia-tour-2018

Did Richard confirmed he would be in the band in that leg of the Neil's tour?

If yes, it means that MK is not going to tour in Europe this spring/summer, as Richard would be with Neil Diamond, and McCusker will be touring in June/July 2018...

Our only chance for last year is Fall 2018, and he did it in previous tours, I guess, he would play North America in Fall. I don't know why, as Europe is warmer than North America in Fall, but, that's how he did it in 2013 and 2015...

Excuse me but this sucks!  You shouldn't have to book RB in advance just so that you can record your album and go on tour!  You're Mark Knopfler!  There are other guitarists.  Granted, you've fallen out with a few over the years and insulted your old pals with a certain song but I'm sure you can find someone!

The thing is Mk and Richard are good friends, RB only said yes to his old boss and friend Neil Diamond after asking MK if the agenda was free...

Neil's tour dates (from the article) are 20 March to 14 April.  These dates would not interfere with Mark's typical schedule.

As far as I recall, Mk tours usually starts in April/May. Tracker was on May 15th if I'm right, and previous tours started in April and May as well. Rehearsals usually happens in march and April so, yes, it kind of interfere...

Again, it's what we want against what MK wants.

We have also to consider that we totally ignore the schedule of the secret project. I'm quite sure that it would be the "guilt" of having MK busy and not having a tour in 2018.

With the new record out for sure in september next year i see no reason why to wait with the tour untill 2019. Makes no sence i think  :think
But yes indeed there is still that secret project and we do not know what obligations MK has with that...
