So it's only Mark and Guy in the studio ?
mmmm, I really like the film music they've done together.
Thinking about "Altamira" with this beautiful acoustic guitar and Return to Ommadawn from Mike Oldfield....
A completely instrumental album would be perfect !
 

Return to Ommadawn is incredible, every MK should listen to it. Also Mike uses his own Mark Knopfler Signature Strat on the album too

Mark owns his own studio, why would he need to rush anything?

I was wondering what could be causing all this secrecy and have made a couple of assumptions:

1. The older Mark gets the less he can be bothered - meaning he just wants to do his little thing and reveal it when it's ready, which leads us to...
2. It's probably fully recorded, mixed and mastered, has a title and a track listing. He's just waiting for the artwork and all the promo material to be ready.

We wouldn't be getting little nuggets here and there, just the whole thing all at once. I mean all the info, not the album itself.

I can't even imagine the amount of my excitement when any news finally will hit the scene. As much as I'm not a fond of Guy's diaries with another pack of generic photos of cables and stuff instead of something interesting, but at least it was spreading the anticipation.

Suddenly, in one day it will go from nothing to BOOM! New this, new that, check this, check that. And you be like...

It all depends what your idea of "soon" is? Guy doesn't have to tell us anything, and if he has been asked by Mark or whoever to say nothing, then he is standing by his word, which is a good thing. He is a stand up guy

Soon has a very wide meaning, 

I don´t expect any announcement until March, is there is any, from Guy´s answers is quite difficult to guess if whatever they are doing is finished or in process of finish it so maybe that soon could be even June or July, LOL

I can't imagine any truer words than this. Mark after some recreation = brand new Mark, usually along with the quality plank going up.

Fallow year?

He has been in the studio since September, I would say something big is coming, we just don't know what as yet!!!
