Mk is doing the soundtrack for the next Disney film...

I really hope it's not something like this.  If Mark were putting stuff out all the time it might be nice, but waiting 2-3 years between releases, makes me hope for just another album.

Which is not to say I wouldn't like something different, but a soundtrack isn't what I'm hoping for.

It´s not just another album...

My hope is that he´s doing whatever he´s doing, and also at the same time, an album...

In that case the safest assumption would be album + documentary. I'm assuming the doc will include live performances so I'm positively sure Mark and Guy would be heavily involved with mixing and stuff.

We already knew about the documentary, and Guy has confirmed it, while he didn´t confirm any info about what they are recording, so what they are recording is not an album, hasn't anything to do with the documentary (the Henrik Hansen one recorded in Copenhaguen, Barcelona, the USA and the Chalke Valley History Festival)...

It´s a mystery to me...

I wonder if this is a new world record of MK's silence right there or not :hmm

I still think it is nothing unusual and this guessing and speculating is getting some sort of hysterical. Only difference is that Guy is not setting up a studio diary this time.
During the Tracker recordings, we already had the same situation, it took him very long to get a first entry together, and when it came out, it was rather disappointing.
Why not enjoying the pure knowledge that there ARE doing something and that we WILL have something new within the next months, whatever it is.

Of course, speculating and guessing is an integral part of fandom and forums, please keep on doing it as long as you like!  ;D

I think it is the documentary and another studio album he is working on. The studio album is probably with help from some big names (clapton, gilmour) whatever but they want him to keep it onder the radar for the public for some kind of reason...

Maybe, and it shows how reliant we have become on Guy as our sole link to Mark these days.

It surely must involve the Hansen documentary in some form or another and an album, perhaps the documentary being a part of the ultra super deluxe ultimate best ever boxed set.

Documentary is done already. Pretty sure about that.

Possible Working Titles:
Mark Knopfler & friends
or in ONLY 2 years:  Mark Knopfler : 70

Guy and MK are working on it. They have now more happy microphones

Could also be that MK is involved in some kind of project related to the death of an artist he admired.  :hmm

In my view: he doesn't want to be bothered by casual visitors to the studio whilst fiddling with n microphones + several amps
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

To make honest I like better silent for bigger surprice. Why you need realty show from studio? Strat, Les Paul, mixing desk. Same like before and before. Relax people.

Exactly what I think... it's fun to guess but in the end I think it's 'just' an album.
