A usual solo album would be perfect for me, wouldn't beg for more.

This. :)

I second this.
My bet is, he doesn't want to be bothered by fanboys and fangirls while commuting to BGS.

Considering that they are in the studio since September and they only had one band session and it looks like an announcement will be made soon, my guess is that finally we'll get "the box" with those tracks left out of previous records, unfinished etc that required final touches or some things added here and there, accompanying the documentary DVD...

Please, oh please!
sort of like the Early years box that pink floyd just released (and which is amazeballs)?
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

I doubt there is enough material around for Mark to release a box set like Pink Floyd: The Early Years. Maybe he is just in the studio producing another artist? Which could explain why Guy is not aloud to say anything, and why Richard Bennett etc is not there!!
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Producing another artist is neither exciting nor different!

Whatever the different and exciting thing they are doing, apparently is just MK and Guy since September with just a band session... That's all we know.

Songs with special guests? Mmmm, I don't know...

It's the lots of things sentence what makes me think I dont have the faintest idea of what they are working on...

I'm really curious about what could be, I'm looking impatiently forward to be disappointed  :lol

Now, being honest I would be happy with just a new record or even just a new film score, so whatever it is I'll be happy.

Is just all this "creating expectations" what bothers me, but, just a little  ;D

Lots of good things coming...

Mk is not "the powers beyond Guy control" that avoid any information...

Another guess. The power beyond their control is the record company... Maybe a new edition of every Ds and MK record would be released with bonus material. Demos, alternative takes, live versions, DVDs etc...

Would make sense, in this operation, MK is not in full control, and some of the material, specially unfinished MK songs, might need some recordings...

Phil Collins just re released all his records with bonus, also Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd made great special editions of all his records...

Would make sense.

I would much prefer an amazing new album, plus bonus material and DVDs, etc.   New editions of previous albums don't fill me with excitement at all.

But featuring extra unheard stuff?

Regarding a reunion well this is a big pain in my heart.

I had wished so much that at some point Mark would agree for a "one off" DS tour.
It is a pity that did not happen and now I think it is too late to do so. Well he still could agree with a RNR Hall Of Fame induction.

Mk has signed a new deal with a new discography in the US, that maybe wants to get something of the old stuff with a re release, and maybe MK has to do it by contract...

By the way, that won't be qualified as exciting by Guy or MK...

Mmmmmm
