I won't throw stones ;-) But I'm curious to know why you think Tracker was rushed.
I think it was due to Mark's almost no-free-time schedule. See, even another tour (!) interrupted the recording sessions of Tracker, schedule was just insane. To me personally, Mark was over the top here as well as over the top in making Privateering a double album. While it can look amazing in news (First double album! Hey! And it might be even a triple album!) in practice wasn't so well for me. I'd prefer stripped down, refined, less bluesy version of Privateering with less randomness in tracks, it almost gives me the feeling of a compilation album.
I know many people would argue with me, and that blues fits very well, "Kingdom Of Gold" is a great opener for the second disc or something along those lines, but it didn't work so well for me. While I love separate songs from the album, I barely listen it all in one sitting, which I can do with his regular albums.
And Tracker continue this series of experiments from Mark. Nothing wrong with experiments, but you never know where it can lead you. You may even start to play "Broken Bones" as an opener!
