I just had a dream about what is the mysterious thing MK and GF are recording...

It's going to be a christmas record, like the ones that Bob Dylan made years ago. That's why they are keeping it so secret, they want to create a big impact this december!

With a cool jazzy version of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"? Oh, man! Keep dreaming, but this is the same as dreaming that MK would register here on AMIT :lol

Jazzy is possible as Nigel Hitchcock is in the band nowadays, but I bet more for kind of celtic versions!!!!

We don´t know if MK is here under a nickname, and being critic with himself...

Yeah, but who knows if he does check here sometimes? :lol That would be great to know.
On the other end, I'm grateful I can enjoy the songs and also being a part of "the rolling waves forever massing"  :wave

Interesting what else he do while surfing on the internet, because he once said he's a laptop victim (like anyone else). He mentioned things like going to Booker Prize website to look at people who gave Beryl her medal when it was "all to late". Guy said he reads his (old) forum from time to time.

So anything's possible, he's a human after all. Or... is he?

Totally agree. When I think of all the masses turning up at all those venues with guitars (!) and stuff thirsting for autographs I can understand him separating people in "fans"  who just love his music and come to his shows once or twice and us Get-a-lifers". The fact that we are organized in forums alone must be very suspicious to a man like him. And seeing what it is we have discussed over the years ( glasses, hair, headband, love affairs) let me agree to a certain extent. He is and probably sees himself as a musician, not a movie or pop star. So I agree fullheartedly. He really SHOULD give a shit. And looking at his release politics, I think he indeed does. Just my opinion, no offence to any signed guitar owner meant.  ;-)

i think he tends to be like his big hero, krusty, who also does not understand the gazillion fanatics out there, analyzing every breath he takes.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Well the pic obviously shows they are recording, doesn't it? So not only rehearsing.

I visited his forum just a minute ago the first time in two or three weeks.. it seems it is getting better. He puts [answered] or [unanswered] into the question header...

Deep thanks to Guy for bringing up bits of information like this, because these days almost every musician uses social media (or their management team) except Mark and look what kind of situation he created — other people do the work for him. I hope he will learn how to use all this stuff or get management to work even harder, because even if he "doesn't give a flying thing" about it all, nothing here says that this is good.

Normally they have a community manager who runs their Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, instagram etc

Actually MK has official accounts in all that media run by a community manager already...

Yeah, official accounts stating that "On The Night" was latest Dire Straits' STUDIO release. Two times. And posting old photos. Only real improvement is in YouTube department, I can't wait for every new release there. But Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are boring as hell.
