If this leads to albums like Tracker or Privateering, I am happy. Tracker is slow but boy it sounds so good! I like it when Mark plays all guitars, sorry Richard! Some great sounding rhythm guitar sounds plus Mandolin on it.. so let them do as they please. Tracker needed a lot of time. Back then, Guy promised a diary but delivered very late and had nothing special to offer. So maybe he learned and will do no more studio diaries in the future. It might be an extended time of exploration and experimenting with sounds, guitars, amps and mics.

I would give them two more years if they promised to make something really special.  :)

My opinion is as long as Mark will use the same musos...

Playtime Deluxe is great because played with a sort of shuffle band. Maybe they are not the best sessionmen in the world but they know how to make the thing swing.

In fact the band that played on Playtime Deluxe is excellent!!

Dave Bronze, Andy Fairweather-low and I can't recall if drummer was Henry Spinneti or Graham Broad, all top level musicians, who had played in Eric Clapton and Roger Waters bands!

3 x yes!

Richard can play many instrument, but have to little "power". Very gentle guitar style.

Robbi Macentosch I also very like.

I have heard Richard playing loud - he can do it if he want to.

Are you kidding me? Any meathead can play loud in a Guitar Center or something.

I once played with a guy, who was playing too loud. I would say to him — hey, buddy, you're playing too loud, bring it down! And he would go to an amp and turn it down a little bit. But as soon I'd turn my back to him, he would turn the knob back to 11 again! What a mother trucker.

So, Richard is monster guitar player, can't say a bad word about him.

It is not about loud but more "presens". Difficult to make defenition about it. Richard has soft style and attitud. I think diffrent player can push MK more.

I am not sure about Mark wanting being pushed by his backing band.

Maybe he not want, but should.

That's why he is not in a band anymore, but a solo artist with well paid musicians that will do what he wants, wether they like it or not, they are not paid to like it, but to play it  ;)

Going back to topic... If whatever they are recording just had a band session and they are recording alone again with no more band sessions in the near future, that makes me think that is unlikely they release anything on time to go on tour for next year...

Similar thoughts. Normal tour maybe 2018 earliest.

I wrote an article that was published online (I know, difficult to believe but I was younger and better with words) and it alluded to this point way back in 1996.  Looking back now, we say his playing back then was great but in 96/97 when I wrote it I had obviously noticed a slackness in his playing and that The Dullards perhaps weren't pushing him.  This may also be because he didn't practice as much (to the extent of perfection anyway) even back then.
