Hi emilianomk
Could well be but I wonder how it could have surfaced if it is MK?
Sounds very much like MK's playing style to me??  ::)

Hmm, well I'm going to call fake. The playing is very good and the tone is close, but the guitar is too distorted to sound exactly like MK's usual tone - quite an easy mistake to make.

Also, if you listen to the other clips posted by this user, they are of a MK tribute band.

And then when you put the user name into youtube you get videos of the band:

So fake I think.  :)

;) Good detective work Dusty. I was going to follow up on the poster's other contributions but got called away for a while. :o
I have since listened to it on my best headphones and it has a strange crackle similar to that which you get from something cut onto a vinyl recording which only deepens the mystery, but I'm starting to lean towards your conclusion and say fake also... :-\

As you said, there are quite a few clips from sultans of cream on youtube also...

EDIT:- A bit more digging and now I'm convinced it is not MK... SOC has also done an extended version (overdub outro) to Hill Farmer's Blues ......same distortion.
Listen here:-http://www.goear.com/listen/97f0b7d/hill-farmer-blues-(extended)-MARK-KNOPFLER.
He also has a recording of MK's Duet contribution to that Charity album which was discussed here on another thread :-Sarah

That's what i though, "fake" btw the melody is nice...
I wonder how fake it is... maybe he attended the last "hidden" show recorded and kept  for himself the "getlucky" tune... and well no idea...
Do you think it could sound this way? or is it TOTALY fake?

Exciting! I think it sounds great anyway! Maybe someone in SOC visited the Garrick Club that night? I actually hope so... I want to hear more of this track!  :)

If it IS fake, then I really hope the real "Get Lucky" sounds something similar!  ;)    This has a feeling of "Silvertown Blues" about it to me.  :)

I have a feeling that this have something to do with the real "Get lucky". Why would a cover band post a link and try to make people believe that this is "Get lucky" if it is something else? In my ears it could have been made by Mark. It sounds great.  :)

Just my opinion, but I think it's totally fake. We'll see.

With the greatest of resepct to our friends in Sultans of Cream, they don't look like they would be members of The Garrick Club. They're not wearing ties for one thing.

I thought this thread was about online dating agencies  ;D

Fake or real? Time will tell! I won't listen, just in case it is real, don't want to hear anything of the new album before I get my hands on it!

Well, Sultans of Cream is a famous and wonderful DS/EC tribute band, which I highly praise, respect and recommend.  I've known them for years.  This recording is from theirs, and I guess they didn't wanna make a fake one to fool us, it's just one way how Spanish fans express their eager to that song, even if we still have not got the chance to have a listen to that song.  Like us, they knew the song title, and with their inspiring imagination to express that song with Knopfler style and in their shape.
