“What sad news. David Bowie’s message was always one of individuality, creativity and freedom of expression and inspired so many.”  MK

:(

What a sad start into 2016. And Lemmy went to the great gig in the sky, too.

And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

I loved so many of his songs, but my absolute favorite is "Young Americans".  I will never forget the excitement I felt whenever it was played on the radio. This song, above all was the one to get thrilled about.

Mark dedicated the song "News" to John Lennon after he was murdered in 1980.

Maybe he could do the same for David Bowie and resurrect the song ?

Am I alone to think that this song is wonderful ? it does not sound like a masterpiece on the album because it is a bit too slow and with not much energy, but live it turned out to be a very touching masterpiece... I especially like the 1980/81 arrangements with Hammond Organ added (altough '79 versions such as Rockpalast are great too). Wonder why Mark does not play it anymore...

No Herlock you're not alone to think that News is awesome!! I've always liked it from the first time I heard it although I discovered this song rather late!!! :thumbsup :wave
But it's written in the starlight and every line on your palm, we're fools to make war on our brothers in arms.

he also dedicated it to Bob Marley in may-june 81

I like very much the werchter version but also the studio version, because like many songs from the two first albums you got two guitars parts played by mark, and I don't think it lacks energy, it's a song in the typical style from early days : laid back, smooth, ambient...
