Male to Female ratio
« on: March 03, 2009, 03:46:29 PM »
I have just noticed the male/female ratio is now 3.1/1!   :o     Come on girls, we need more of you on this forum!   I think we are being squeezed out!   This must not happen!   :o

If we have more and more members all the time, maybe we can say that statistically MK has 2/3 of male and 1/3 of female fans. Would be interesting to know about other artists as well. But Val: there are less of us, but there is girlpower, so we count for 2  ;D

Hmmmm, has anyone looked around during a concert and checked out the ratio?   I haven't.  My eyes have been glued to the stage.      ;)

Yes, I always look around before the show starts and in Europe the girls are very much in the minority.  In Amsterdam, at a rough guess I would say about 90/10 male/female!  I did take some pics of the Amsterdam audiences and that how I based my figures!  In Britain, however, I would say about 55/45 male/female!   :)

Incidentally, Guy said in his diary that in some parts of Europe, Russia particularly, the audiences were about 90% male and around 17 years old, all playing air-guitars!  :o

Well, we do have a new 15 year old member, who has bumped Dan M and Danny J off the 'youngest' podium.    I hope we get more!
But. . . . . .considering how gloriously sexy MK is, I can't understand the female minority.   Guess there are just more guitar playing men than women.

Haha Marie, I am always happy to be in the front of the house during a concert and my eyes are looking forward to the stage and not back, so I also don't know about the ratio male-female during concerts  ;D

Ingrid, Of course my eyes are glued to the front during the show, but I like to have a good look around beforehand.  Pictures of audiences are so interesting, the Amsterdam ones were particularly so!  You never know who is behind you!   ;D

Quote Val: "Yes, I always look around before the show starts and in Europe the girls are very much in the minority. "

Hey ladies,  I think all the women are there, but you can't see them on pictures etc. You want to know why? ::)

The reason might be that they are laying at the ground!  :o Thinking about and watching Mark causes so much drool that they aren't able to stand anymore, it's too slippery! ;D

I have been thinking lately about some really lovely ladies, who I am missing from this forum.  We need your very humorous posts, ladies, especially in the DROOL SECTION!   Gbobmi, Jcser,Joanzimm, Sweetsurrender and others I have missed - please come back - your forum needs you!!   ;D

I think given not only the fact that rock fans in general are more likely to be male, but also that the type of people sad enough to spend their time being geeky on an internet forum (!) are MUCH more likely to be male, we do pretty well to have so many women here.

Not only that, the women that we DO have tend to be very active participants in the forum, so very much a case of "quality over quantity", or as Mrs Valentino always tells me "Size doesn't matter."  ;)

I agree with you VAL! It seems that most of the ladies (including me) are too busy the last weeks/months, but it would be great to have them all together again! ...I think we all can use a good laugh in these rainy and dark days! ;)

Well instead of the ladies drooling over Mark, the guys can meanwhile drool when they watch me!!

Isn't this a good idea?  ;D

Well, speaking strictly from a guitar-playing female's point of view, I vacillate between the physical attraction and the fact that, oh, my, can that boy play the guitar!! I still remain devoted to my desert-island fantasy, but I think it would have to include a guitar floating up to the  beach!!

My, my, aren't we a randy bunch? Drooling, slipping, sizing and the like.

I agree with the ladies~we are a special bunch! Our concentrated energy makes one of us seem like 2.

I also agree that my eyes are glued to the stage, not to the crowd around me. I have no idea what the ratio of males to females is.

This is the millennium~

WOMEN RULE, MEN DROOL.......

Huh?

WOMEN DROOL, MEN DROOL (too).

MK is an equal opportunity guitar god!
arse ;D
