Gilmour 2015 Album and Tour - SPOILER

I'm just back from 2 shows from Nîmes and one from Arc-Senans, wonferful locations, and i'm just speechless. As i told my wife, we are leaving the last years of these sacred monsters before it's over, and all we'll be left with will be Justin Bieber and the likes... David might have not been perfect every song of every night, but who cares, the shows were freaking fantastic. My first time hearing One of These Days and The great gig in the sky... Comfortably Numb was out of this world... Serious competition for Mark ! Now I can't wait for Roger Waters 2017... And Mark of course...

I don't like Roger Waters shows because it's basically like listening to a cover band. Yes Roger is indeed there and singing and his voice is magic but the players around him cannot make it up  that is all the guitarists he has
alltogether cannot make up 10% of Gilmour imo.

I saw Roger in 2013 playing the Wall, and what I missed was strangely enough Gilmour's voice, (2-3 others tried to make it happened but it didn't work for me) NOT his guitar playing. (Well, a tiny bit on Comfortably numb, but the show made up for it). My point of view is that he chooses better than in previous times and he doesn't sound like a cover band, at least not anymore.

Gilmour's playing is indeed unique, just like his voice. Very hard to imitate. This being said, it does not mean than other guitarists are bad - just different ! Talking about cover band for Roger is unfair, IHMO. If you watch the "In the flesh" DVD, I think Doyle, Andy Fairwhether-Low and Snowy White are superb guitarists, and they bring a different take. I like Andy's soloing on "Money", SOYCD part VI with John Carin on lapsteel has great energy, like nothing before, with Snowy's solo being great... Chester Kemen and David K. are excellent guitarists too ! I loved the Wall live.
The problem Roger has, is, while he made most of the contributions to the albums concepts and lyrics, he is not needed to reproduce PF sound, as David is. David can reproduce the PF sound with him alone and sessions musicians. Roger's bass playing is ordinary, nothing that Guy Pratt could'nt do, and his voice is... ouch. Ok, pretty unique, but sounds so old ! People like SOYCD with Gilmour's voice only better than on the album actually...

already many recordings out ther,e and i will add mine soon.
was cool to see how he said, at 11:45 (!!) and in about, oh, 15 minutes time, my beautiful wife and i will celebrate our (22th) honeymoon....
the rain in the light of the lasershow also added to the magic.

The shows in Rome were freaking fantastic

There was a lot of confusion in the audience the first night during Sorrow because penalties were been played between Italy and Germany... because the song was Sorrow I already knew how it was gonna end...

David even thanked the audience in the first half break for coming even if Italy was playing that night

Regarding the coming shows in Verona this weekend I have received an official comunication that the first show Sunday 10 July has been delayed by 1 hour and now starting at 10pm, not 9pm, who knows why, quite strange to delay in advance
