That's a good idea as well. Can you think about this GeToS23?
But we have to agree on what color we will print it then, so we will have the same shirts at the end. Or maybe (in the second part of this year) if Gayle doesn't want to do it I pick it up.
But this is a good option Marie. We can print it in our own shop. Very easy to realise I think  :)

Just a thought - Doesn't MK own his signature?  That could be a problem!  :-\

Yes it could be, for example Eric Clapton signature is copyrighted and use it for official mershandising- better to check with PCM before.

I think that PCM will respond readily to such a question.

I think there is no need for these T-shirts anymore because there are new ones at Markknopfler.com

For the new people who didn't see the T'shirts of last year yet, I'll post these 2 pictures! This shirt was designed for and by fans, Gayle from the USA did all the work to sent them around the world. About 50 shirts were made, so they are very special! ;)

At the pictures you see Val and me when we and fans of other countries met each other before the Kick off concert in Amsterdam last year. It was great to have such a shirt and I will wear it with proud again! ;D

I just see the text at the back isn't clear enough. These words are written: Mark Knopfler Forum Member  ;)

Gayle is a very nice lady from the USA, you will "meet" her when she has time to read and post here!  ;D

Yeah I saw those shirts, but I don't like them as much as the one we had last year! ;D

Unfortunately, the MK store says they are not available in North America.   That's no fun.

In my opinion we do need a new shirt in 2010. Actually the ones that were designed for us forummembers (sorry I forgot for both shirts who I have to credit for design  :-[) are much more beautiful than the official tourshirts. I don't like the last years official shirts. off course I bought some, because as a real Knopflerfan I collect everything  ;D
But the design from GeToS is perfect for a new shirt for us

And then on the back:

A Mark  In Time Forummember
Tour 2010

Something like that  :)

I'm all for having a forum t-shirt but most of you will remember the problems that Gayle had last year with copyrite issues etc :(.It was looking like she was getting a solicitors letter at one stage from PC Management co, so we would want to be very carefull if we look at doing something for the next tour!If you contact PC Management co directly on this you are going to get a flat NO & more than likely a warning as well to tell you not to do it.

However,in saying all that how are these guys operating on ebay?

I dont think that these guys contacted PC or any other artists management company in relation to these??
If it aint broke dont fix it!

W/M, It wasn't just a solicitor's letter. They threatened to ban her from the forum and ever buying tickets,  merchandise, etc from Markknopfler.com, not to mention legal action!  So we need to be very careful!  :-\

Yeahh I remember the mails Gayle got from management! After all the hard work and problems she had, Gayle told she never would organize anything anymore and I understand that! ;)

In a mail of Paul Crockford's management to Gayle was said:
All rights to Mark Knopfler are owned by Mark himself.  Please note that your name will be removed from all www. markknopfler.com mailing lists and you will no longer have access to tickets, presales or any other venue where I can exercise that control. Gayle was told NOT to sell, send or wear this shirt and that if she would do, there would be legal action. ...........Lucky after a few days Gayle (and we all) got permission to wear the shirt as Paul said "just this once". Further T Shirt endeavors would require approval from management.

==============

I am sure you all can imagine that this was a big shock for Gayle and for all of us too! All we wanted was a forum member Fan's T'shirt for and by the forum fans! :o

I like the second shirt also, but I am not sure if this picture from Mark (or copyright from somebody else) can be used. There is a change it might not be allowed and I don't want people to get in trouble because of a few shirts! ;)

The other really awful thing about the T-Shirt fiasco, was that TK deleted the T-Shirt thread, so we couldn't talk about it or even refer to it on the forum, thus denying us our freedom of speech!  >:(

I agree with Fieneke, even though I would like a 2010 T-Shirt, I would hate anyone to get into trouble!  :)

But after Gayle replied to PC and told what was going on she received another mail that was much more friendly. Especially because it wasn't for sale and it were just the forummembers (the ones who ordered one so only 50) made him saying it wasn't a real problem anymore. He understood she was doing business with this T's and that made him crazy. So I don't think we have a problem at all.

It is allowed to organize T-shirts for every private-club you have. And we are just a club. Compare it with having another club (knitting or something  ;D  ;D ) and decide to have a t-short.

We don't have to use his name: A Mark In Time Forum Member seems ok to me. And if we don't use official pictures, only private one which are designed like below in this thread I really don't think it's a problem. But before we really start it I will contact PC and GF about it. Is that an idea so we can go on with designing and so on for now and in a couple of months I will contact them and talk about it.

For now I have to go. I am back in 10 days if a polarbear didn't eat me in the meantime  ;)
