Thanks dmg, I know it is quite arrogant to correct English translations as the foreign speaker that I am. It just does not sound like Gateshead TO ME, that's all. I would go for something like "gatham" or similar, with an m at the end, but that one does not exist!  ;D

Listened again, and it makes sense of course, but if any, my understanding is GateshaM.. and that's still what makes me doubt it.. but that's just me.. and dmg is right..

So he kisses the Gateshead girl. Girls and cars. And cars. And girls.

 ;)

...and books!  ;)

We'll soon find out for sure.  Assuming we're issued with the lyrics (which we always have been).

"To have time to think about time" is my favourite sentence not only from this song but probably from all the songs MK had written...

Thanks Shangrila!

This and "[...] time is a jet plane, it moves too fast [...]" by someone whose name has escaped me right now.  ;)

I like the line "Time has no shame" from "A Place We Used to Live".

Seems like Mark has spent some time thinking about time as well...

The last seconds of the Hansen movie with the (obviously) last lines of the lyrics and the beginning of the outro make me think of The Scaffolder's Wife, guitar sound wise and from the mood. Agree anyone?

I agree LE ! same mood and I think that this song will be one of my favorite of "Tracker", it has everything I like, harmony, breaks and of course the gorgeous sound of the Gibson.
If I realised that the chances were slim,
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in

This song will be a classic.  It has quality written all the way through it.  Lyrics are superb and I can foresee a lovely, tasteful solo at the end during the tour.

I'd rather not hear this live, it's not a live song imho.

Kingdom of Gold is a better choice in this department.
"My idea of heaven is a place where the Tyne meets the Delta, where folk music meets the blues."
