It brought me a kind of " secondary waltz" feeling :think

Much better than SW!

i agree , but the fist time i heard it let me hummm a part of Sec.Waltz and to be honest it still does , cant tell exactly why , if it is in the rhythm or Mark's melodically voice.
To be really honest i have it with more songs on this album that sounds a bit familiar to previous songs , and not in a " hey its Mark's sound" kind of way.
But lucky as i am , i don't bother :lol

Funny, because for me it has some of "Border Reiver" and neither of the songs you mentioned...

I think this would be a great opener if MK wants...

It´s genius, that jazz opening, and then when the folk part comes, the bass and drums keep playing the jazz, so it´s mixed all along the track, wow!!!!

jbaent, about your first phrase,  i guess that's the way he world goes round so may people and so many different views , that's what makes us individuals so special.
But as it comes to a 3/4 count , its a waltz for me much to quick :smack

The intro reminded me of a slowed down Water of love. Nice one.

you are not mistaken with the drum and the slide guitar during intro  "Lights of Taormina" ? :think

Do i have the right topic banners on my screen ??? :hmm

Does anybody have an idea about the meaning of the searching for the lost girl in this song?
Besides the "laughs and jokes" and being young aspect there seems to be another dimension with this girl throughout the whole song and in all the media reviews with regard to this song MK hasn't mentioned that aspect which makes me wonder even more.
Why is he combining the "not that we ever cared" verses with the search that shows caring?

Oh boy! I found the entire album on YT, but the speed was off, but I wasn't aware of it! I played LAJADAS twice thinking that Mark was half asleep and that this album was horrible.....but then I adjusted the speed and WOW!! Now that sounds more like it!
Can't wait till the Beacon x 2!!

If you go to settings on YT you can adjust it to get it correct speed.

I saw that dmg, but I wasn't sure what the correct speed is.

Also, Beryl and Wherever I go appear to be much slower than on the singles.

I have listened the album two times now and I think that this is a great one! However, this album feels that you really have to listen to songs. Partly because of slow pace and pauses and not solid 4/4 drums :)

This song is vaguely reminiscent of "All the Roadrunning" and I love the jazzy "Take Five" rhythm which runs through the song.   :)

Makes me smile when the rest of the band join in the chorus in a very 'sea shanty' style!! Keep thinking of MK pressing the light switch and having seconds to get in his door!! (MK mentions this on the dvd!)
