They’re looking to close up in here
They’re pulling down the blinds
But they’ll let you stay awhile
They’re not going to mind
Now I’ve got to leave you, brother
So this round’s mine
Here’s looking at you, anyhow
You can go on and have another
They won’t call time
I’m going to say my goodbyes now
The key for understanding seems to be somewhere in these lines. Who are they? Where does the scenery take place? A bar? A Hotel?
And the word "brother" is strange to me in case it would be a story of love, or just about a couple?
Are the two narrators separated by miles and everyone sings to the other one so to say, or are they meeting in this place, a short meeting after long times of being separated and have to leave again soon? I first and until now strongest first impression is another variation of "Beyond My Wildest Dreams", a trucker, meeting his wife for one night at a crossroads?
