string gauge and hello im new

Hello guys im Richie im a guitarist  and loved the music of dire straits and mark knopfler since 1984 when i first started playing. Unfortunatly .i dont own a MK strat  i wish i did.  i do own a candy apple red squier classic vibe.  Does mark still use 9 gauge  strings or is it 10s these days .my strat has 9s on it i dont know wether to stick with them or use 10s. You got here then!
At the end of the day MK will use a variety of strings for his guitars. I would experiment and see what is best for you..
I as you know have 3 MK Strats but they are set up differently...
1) 9's with floating Tremelo (Early one)
2) 10's with Fixed Tremelo
3) 10's with Floating Tremelo (latest one)

I play a lot of MK along with Shadows/Marvin material so the three give me plenty of variety.

Try some 10's and see how you go... What music do you play?

Hi  steve  i play all kinds the beatles the shadows    all kinds .ive all ways used a trem on my strats but im thinking of   not using the trem  for a while  and trying to play a bit of knopfler if i can   haha . I will post up a video of me see what you think   its me playing sleep walk the shadows. Your mk decal should be with you  in a day or 2 mate thanks rich
