Yeah, also here:

Song 'With Mark' is from 24:35, what do you think? Sounds like some 80s Boys And Girls samples maybe.

I listened to it three day ago, but honestly i don't get if there is anything by Mark. Officially the management said that there is no involvement of MK, still Bryan Ferry claimed that there are contributions, and we suppose that he uses old samples. That's too much confusion for me. Listened to it and can't find the tipical MK style...

At 1:27 and 1:31 on "Lost" there's that snapping Knopfleresque "spanish strike". And that would probably indicate much older stuff.

From MKNews:

Bryan has sampled Mark's nylon guitar work from an earlier album on the song Lost on his new album, Avonmore. (updated: 21/11/14)

I knew it, as I mentioned in previous posts, In Guy Pratt's book he said he recorded back in 1985 bass and other arrangements in tapes by Bryan Ferry full of guitars by Mark Knopfler and David Gilmour and ither people, I suspect that this new record might contain some of that old Mk guitar parts as Mknew said there was no involvement by MK in the recird, and I was right  ;D

Gratulations, jbaent. Thanks for information, LE and Border Reiver. Yes, you're right. Hm, kind of weird that a 30 year old track appears again within a different context.
I'm not sure if i like that. Sure, there are a lot of good samples out there, and the process of forming a complete new piece of music of sound material is creative, interesting and exciting. Still i love the old school approach of musicians playing together. Thats also the reason why i love live recordings. It's a conservation of singularity, a try to grab unforgetable moments that cannot be reproduced...

Funny thing is that the song is not 30 years old, it's Knopfler's guitar parts what is 30 years old, who knows when Bryan Ferry wrote the song, but it's nice that he rescued MK guitars from so many years ago.
