Basil has a great concept as far as I can judge it by now - no wonder he seems to like to talk about it so detailed...
Mark portrayed as a young man, naive, happy, energetic, "up for the world", meeting that grumpy old poet... finding out he has written that masterpiece "Briggflatts" - now, from the point of view of being old (and somewhat grumpy?) himself, he writes about it, finally understanding what Basil was about, "to "to have time to think about time"..
I have difficulties to find a song with similar depth on Privateering, this one seems to be in the same league as 5.15am..
Wow, can't wait. And the connection with the opener seems to be there, didn't Mark say "Laughs & Jokes and Drinks & Smokes" was about him young and "up for the world", too?
I guess it will be pure bliss to listen to the album as a whole..
