That is a good point.  With Christmas digesting the entire media for the month of December then where would he manage to do any promotion!

I don't care about the release date.

Decision is made, go the very old days : attend concert first and only then listen to the studio record. So "Tracker" will be a July only release to me.  Thus this time this way by attending May 15th gig in Dublin, not only I will discover the new setlist like it was before Internet time but also I will be blessed with songs I never heard before

I wonder if the release date is later than usual, because Privateering  was only officially released in the US 15 months ago.   A new album would have seemed a bit close to Privateering over there.

I dont think it has anything to do about it, my guess is that the only reason is that the time its needed to finish the production of the physical record, in terms of design of the covers, the marketing strategy, whatever is needed to do after the record is finished. They thought that it might be ready for a january release but noticed that it won

If I remember correctly than there was never any official mentioning of "January", only "early 2015".. "Early" could be March also..

Exactly, officially, January was never announced, but most of the promoters, including the UK ones (its still in the London O2 site) announced that the record will be out in January, probably because someone from the record company or MK

I think it was the O2 web site where it was stated a January release so you're right.

@ds1984:  Remember back in the day we had the singles to keep us going.  e.g. Calling Elvis was released before the OES tour started but the album wasn't released until around the last Birmingham date.

LE, in regard to many points of discussion here in the last months I often referred to the in my view "offical" information that accompanied the announcing of the tour dates through the venues and ticket sellers like:

I was critical about it, because in many regards it gave us more info than the mk.com site itself and the ticket sellers can only have the info from the management

The explicit mentioning of January instead of "early"
The revealing of touring band members
and that the tour would last to/till August
