Hey Banjo and JF, thank you! Let's see some Tommy Emmanuel vids together and I'll give up playing guitar like you just as well :-D
Very cool question regarding recording JF! It was hard to figure out how to record it 1 in 1. Just playing over original was too hard for me rhythmically, but I was kind of want to do it without headphones, too, so it made it even more hard. So what I did, I made a custom click-track in Pro Tools beat by beat after original recording, and recorded the whole thing with a click only in my home audio system. Voila! Both times it was Chet's part first and then Mark's. And believe it or not, I got more troubles with Mark's part, especially in Dreams. Final MK takes was better, but with Chet actually early takes was better.
Recording had some funny things. I've done an awful lot of takes with a guitar being unplugged, I've made a really really good MK Dreams take with a camera being treacherously unfocussed. But it was fun. In total it was about 6 ours of recording and a couple of evenings for editing two vids.
The most hard part was the rehearsing and the learning process. Try to learn Imagine note boy note, and boy
