Dire Straits legend Mark Knopfler is reported to be joining John Illsley at intimate London gig in June at The Jazz Cafe.

I think the fan are way more upset by the tributes band than the main artist himself. So WTF if Phil is invited by John to play with him? Phil Palmer is a serious session man after all.

I saw Phil Palmer twice at the Royal Albert Hall corridors, one in a Mk concert, the other in a Clapton concert. The Mk one was years before The Straits / Ds Legends. I asked him if he saw Mk before the concert and he said, "no, and not after either"

He was inside the RAH before the concerts started, so I guess he was in the audience in both cases, unless the RAH staff left people go inside to take a walk and then go out before the concert starts
