What a great surprise this morning!   My copy dropped through the letterbox a day before the release date - on a Sunday too!    :D   Can't wait to have a listen!   :)

You have post on a Sunday?  Some days we don't have any postal delivery at all and never on a Sunday!

No, we don't.   I just heard it drop through the letterbox, so presumably it came by courier, unless Royal Mail have started working on Sundays.

I've listened to the album a few times now and in general I think it's very good.  I like MKs two songs very much and Train to Nowhere is, indeed, growing on me, as I knew it would.   I like Tom Petty's three songs - especially as they're from one of my favourite JJ albums, 'Okie'.  They're a bit close to the original, but that's OK with me.   The only one I'm having difficulty with is Starbound, but I'll give it time.

It's a very good tribute to JJ!    :)

Is there anything interesting in the booklet? Any picture? Any reference pointing that it was, or partially, recorded at British Grove?

There are lots of pictures, mostly very small ones.   There are two with MK, one we have seen from when he sang with JJ and  another very small one in BG I presume.   I have scoured the pages, but can find no reference to anything having been recorded at British Grove.   :(

He's standing, arms folded with a young lady on either side of him.  I think they're in front of something with wires coming out of the front.  It's a very small picture!   :think

Why is there a picture of GF ?
Is he involved in something (the bonus tracks ?) or was there  only to fix someone's bicycle ?

It certainly looks like Guy, but I wasn't sure.  He isn't mentioned anywhere in the booklet.   :hmm

Yes, Mark was involved on two tracks and I was there to lend an ear where needed. It was really lovely to see Mark and Eric playing guitar together, at the same time. These tracks were recorded at BG. Simon Climie (producer) and Alan Douglas (engineer) did a fine job.

That's what Guy posted in April

Yes, of course, I remember reading about that.   It's a bit strange that BG isn't mentioned in the booklet though.  In fact no recording studio is mentioned, only Gateway Mastering.

The album is a very well made tribute to JJ. I love everything about it, it's fantastic!

Yes, i like the spirit of it too. EC shows his respect. I like also the sequence of the songs, starting with jj's first song on his debut album "call me the breeze" to the meaningful closing number crying eyes (together with christine). And it's a well made album...

And isn't it wonderful to have new JJ Cale songs on it? And our man plays them?

Yes, I think that is one of the best things about the album and those particular songs cannot be compared to JJ's version, until we hear demos.   :)
