Lived my dream, time now to relax & get over it..
« on: April 04, 2014, 10:36:15 AM »
If you've followed a few of my recent posts I managed to get a song released on iTunes, it has an accompanying video and although my voice has little character I'm proud to have completed an original song/project from conception to worldwide availability, assuming it's listened too on headphones or a hi-fi - mixing for tablets and phones really distresses me, I don't know what I'm doing!

Today we released a cover song on iTunes, Will you still love me tomorrow, with my singer Lauren Buckley amazing vocal, and me and my mate on guitars and bvs.

I've put in a bit of promo cash and got the ears of an agency linked to a major US record company, but basically I don't think I can do better than this (I recorded / edited & produced Lauren's track) and it's a great feeling. To have something out there available that's not too tacky... I guess I'll always be a dreamer...
But realistically if either song results in no further opportunities other than the local circuit we play already, it's all good. I feel good. :)
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

First of all many congratulations to you.  You do sound very humble and modest about it all (heard that somewhere before ;)) but that's nice to hear these days.  If you have enjoyed the process though, then that's the main thing although I do wish you every success with it as I'm sure we all do here at AMIT.

Mini surprise update - when I released Yummy Mummy In A Luxury Car, the bands facebook page got about 100 new likes from Korea (possibly Japan too it's hard for me to tell).
So, with the new song - Lauren's cover of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow - I put all the bands gig money from last month (a huge $150) and stuck an advertisement ONLY targeting Korea, we've had over 500 new 'likes' in less than a week and the bands you tube channel has got thousands of 'views'.
I was quite surprised. Even if they don't listen to the song they must like Lauren's pretty face, which may be what's happening! Same with the pretty mummy I used to promote my other song!

All this is interesting but not mortgage busting, would be nice if some Korean agent tries to contact Lauren or myself... :)

^ any Korean interpreters welcome haha!

Nice thinking Fletch! I wish that someone calls from these countries so it can bring you more than views and likes! You really deserve this!
Come on, it is not funny anymore.
