I am so sorry people but I genuinely don't think that Reis sounds anything like Knopfler, especially in the vocal department. Regarding his guitar playing he is great but he is like every other person who plays Knopfler songs, it sounds great for the most part but seriously is not up there to Knopfler levels.

MK was the creator whilst all other tribute artists are and always will be just imitators.

Just my opinion folks but no tribute artist has ever really come close to Knopfler's tone, creativity or natural live performance.

Bringing something new? errrr no, it's called a tribute and it is in my opinion just that, a tribute in the style of Reis.

Of course tribute artists are imitators - that's the whole point!

No one will ever play Knopfler as well as Knopfler - even if they were a "better" guitarist than him. Any player's style is their own, you can come close but not perfect.

To me, a good tribute player should be able to recreate the sound and feel accurately and also be able to add their own touches without ever straying too far from the original style. In other words, if they improvise you want it sound like it could have been Knopfler improvising.

Don't know enough of Reis's playing to know if he does this. But I wouldn't expect to see a tribute artist sounding 100% like the original - not unless they were so obsessed with it that they has never developed a style of their own, in which case they are an impressionist not a musician and I'd have no interest in seeing that.
