I completely understand and agree with you. I didn't want to be critical. I try to elaborate.

The largest collection in the world of DS stuff and memorabilia is (I believe) in Italy, where there is a collector with a capital C that many of you know. It's hard to find some MK related item that is missing in this collection.

But let's take as example another collection (I allow myself to do it because it is public, online), the one by Jeroen: it's a very large collection but, of course (since he began to collect some objects more recently), it's not complete. But the items that are missing in his collection are rare or extremely rare, and this is easily understandable.

What surprises me, instead, is the fact that in the Mikel's collection there are extraordinary items (of which I hadn't even heard of), but it lacks of items easy to find and not expensive. Probably, as said, simply he has no interest in acquiring them.

Maybe he has them, but do not present them to save time, since they are quite ordinary. Maybe he can enlighten us!
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

it's possible but unlikely: among the Golden Heart collection, as example, there are some uncommon singles, some common but others, as common as the previous, are missing. Just a personal selection, I believe

Back in the day, I gathered a lot of Dylan "things" - releases, recordings, books, magazines, newspaper articles, posters and so on - but never really set out to collect anything and everything.  Some people still do  that but there are now so many "things" that it is diffcult, time-consuming and expensive.  Dmg has indicated that he has narrowed his MK collecting habit down a bit and that is admirable. If anyone should choose the "anything and everything" route, please be aware of the enormity of the task.  To give you some idea, maybe you would care to check out these Dylan sites:

OFFICIAL RELEASES (in all their variations):  http://www.searchingforagem.com/

ALL KNOWN RECORDINGShttp://www.bjorner.com/chronologies.htm

BOOKS AND "COVER" MAGAZINES: http://michel.pomarede.pagesperso-orange.fr/CW&C/

PHOTOS: http://dylanstubs.com/pictures/index.html

DAILY NEWShttp://www.expectingrain.com/

TOURS: http://www.boblinks.com/dates.html#0609

All of the above have multiple pages and these are just a very few of the sites devoted to Dylan. Just be aware of what you are letting yourself in for.

Now, I just pick up "stuff" as I come across and keep largely to the basics (important releases and publications) and try to update my collection of old newspaper and magazine cuttings (concentrating mainly on the 1960s and 1970s). In the old days, there was something slightly romantic about getting a newspaper from some far-flung part of the world, with all their local news as well as the Dylan piece. Nowadays, it is all electronic and more mundane.
true. it is a bottomless pit, mark too, but bob is even worse to collect.
i only collect audio, hardly ever video of dylan's shows, i do not really buy books, or gadgets (of mark i do, not for bob) i collect all MK bootleg/fan recordings i can find, same shows in differentversions etc, for bob i decided to only really focus on post 87 stuff, it is simply tooo much, so i decided to focus on what i like, and no longer collect everything, of anyone..
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

In the beginning the internet seemed to be a joyous occassion for all fans. But the truth is a bit different. For instance, I had a hard time finding things in Greece by MK or DS, and when I did the hard to find ones were pretty pricy. The internet in the beginning offered many things from around the world in relatively affordable prices. But once many sellers and buyers found out about internet market (ebay, discogs, abebooks etc) the prices for the easy to find  items hit rock bottom, while the hard to find skyrocketed. I have almost given up searching about hard to find items for that reason. And early on, I desided that I would collect anything about MK/DS that is affordable, but mainly focus on vinyl releases. Despite that fact I have only the easy to find editions, (for example I have no South American 7'', at all-because they are overpriced). I guess it has to do with supply and demand, or to put it better in collector's terms, desire and satisfaction.   But the main reason for my decision is that I love music very much to pay for overpriced items that I already have the content, when with the same money I can support and buy music from other musicians that deserve my attention.
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

it's possible but unlikely: among the Golden Heart collection, as example, there are some uncommon singles, some common but others, as common as the previous, are missing. Just a personal selection, I believe

I saw his collection in person. He got ALL of them, peculiar or not, but he shows what he thinks its more rare.

Ok Julio, if you say that I have to believe it. Now we can stop this odd debate made of suppositions :)  :wave

Of course, between 2001 and 2003, if memory serves, Mikel Camps organized in Barcelona concerts of Steve Phillips, Brendan Croker, and the two of them together, in which he showed his collection to small groups of fans (obviously with a frienly connection with him), and you can be sure that you have to dig very very very very deep to find something he doesnt have. If its easy to find, he sure have it, if its hard to find, he has it too. If its impossible to find, he might take a little while to find it  ;D

Seriously, he has one of the biggest collections I ever saw. I know in person three of the biggest MK collectors in planet earth, and I
