John Illsley performing as part of Dire Straits Legends band ?!!

How Marco did success to convince him, I would be curious to know.

Does John miss playing that good ole stuff that much?

John is about to release a new cd, and probably he agreed to play with them if they play some of his songs and also sell his cd at the concerts.
So Long

Wouldn't want to utter platitudes, but such is the prose of everyday life.

All of them want to eat and drink to satiety, however very few are able to create something truly remarkable.
And it looks as if they will persevere with their attempts to palm off musty eggs till doomsday.

So... Alan Clark's pal Steve Ferrone misses The Straits' US Spring tour because he is recording with Tom Petty, but then joins a rival DS tribute act?

Bizarre stuff.

Well it's obvious:  Ferrone is the better cheaper drummer! :lol

Pick out, John in. So when John will be fired, they'll hire Mark for a lead guitar? Or will they start with David?

Sibling rivalry!  I'd say whoever is cheapest! ;)

I can't see the problem with JI doing this - why shouldn't he make a few bob out of being part of a DS tribute show?

I can sort of see some of the issues people have with The Straits, in that they are marketing themselves as a continuation of the original band and slightly passing themselves off as something they aren't. But DSL aren't pretending to be anything other than a bunch of ex band-members putting on a show of DS music.

There's a demand for it, it's honest, and no-one is being ripped off.

Sincerely, it must be hard being JI, playing & living amongst the Hurricane that was Dire Straits only to find himself doing nothing of significance for the last 22 years!!

There's a fella called John Deacon of Queen, who somehow found the secret to leaving it all behind whilst the others struggle on for significance. Deacon should start a support group, but I honestly think he's too busy having a real life! He's an enigma.

another one that comes to mind is Nick Mason. The only one member being part of all Floyd incarnations, and surely the less known from public !

whilst the others were fighting for right issues, releasing new albums, etc.... he prefered spending his time in cars race. I guess it's having a real life too.

Hear hear, John Deacon is the only member of Queen to retain any dignity.  Some of the stuff the other two have done with the Queen name has been downright embarrassing.

Surely John doesn't need the money,  he just wants to play.

And what has happened to Danny?
